Can i take my handbag and an inflight bag onto Thomas cook flight?

This is my first time flying and a bit confused about what i can take onto the flight. It says one piece of hand luggage but is a handbag classed as hand luggage?
Nope, Thomas Cook restricts you to one piece only of hand luggage with a maximum weight limit of 5kg or 43 cm x 28 cm x 23 cm in size. (17″ x 11″ x 9″). With such a low limit, I’m guessing that you couldn’t travel with just cabin luggage, as the limit is either too light or too small.
